Pier Rat. Venice Pier and beating depression.

IDSCI0522 DSCI0523Back  in the days before Venice was known as hipster/silcon beach, back when the Venice Breakwater was the spot to surf and Venice Pier was a body surfing only location I had hair and all my real teeth. Well things are different now as Venice pier has surfable waves, I am missing most of my hair and some of my natural teeth (got implants not for me hair but teeth lol.) What has this got to do with surfing you ask? Well I suffer from depression just like many other folks, and  having a good surf is a great remedy for bouts of depression. On the day of the above photos, I had a very difficult time, with a depression. I was walking along the pier and borrowed the surfboard ( a plastic BIC board) and got my salt H20 ride on!
